It came bundled with a unique piece of equipment known as a Balance Board. This piece of equipment sat on the ground and had sensors built in to detect weight and motion, not only to measure body mass index, but to sense movement for various exercise activities.

These exercise activities ranged from yoga to balance-testing games to traditional workouts and even the ability to have a measured and/or timed jog.

Wii Fit also allowed players to use their customized Mii characters, to put the face of themselves or those in their friends or family in the game.

The game was a massive success, selling over 22 million copies, making it one of the top-selling games throughout the Wii’s history.

It would be followed by an upgraded version called Wii Fit Plus, and a full sequel for the next Nintendo home console, Wii Fit U.
