Batman faces a villain who fancies himself a god in an Animated Series episode that aired on this day in television history.

“Fire from Olympus” is the 63rd episode of the 1st season of Batman: The Animated Series. Written by Judith & Garfield Reeves-Stevens, it first aired on May 24th, 1993.

Maximilian Zeus runs a business in Gotham, but also acts as if he is the god Zeus, stealing a weapon that could threaten the entire city. And, so it is up to Batman to stop him.

The Reeves-Stevenses who wrote this episode are also known for their work on Star Trek novels and TV episodes.
