Captain Picard, Counselor Troi, Data, and Geordi La Forge are returning from a conference when they can’t locate the Enteprise. When they do, they find it frozen in time, apparently a victim of a Romulan attack. But, when they board the ship–with its crew stuck like bugs in amber–they discover there’s even more to this unusual situation than what it seems.

The episode features a Runabout, a staple vessel from the then-contemporary series, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Adam Nimoy, son of Leonard Nimoy (Spock), directs the episode.
