This Day in Video Game History – June 26th, 2012 – London 2012: The Official Video Game Released

An official game based on the London 2012 Olympic Games was released four years ago today.

London 2012: The Official Video Game, developed by Sega Studios Australia and published by Sega, was released in the US on June 26th, 2012.

The game features the settings of the 2012 London Olympics and lets players compete in a variety of events ranging from Track & Field to Swimming to Beach Volleyball to Skeet Shooting and more.

The Xbox 360 version supports motion control in some events through the Kinect, while the Playstation 3 version supports the Playstation Move. The game was also released on personal computers.
