This Day in TV History – August 1st, 2003 – My Life as a Teenage Robot Debuts

An animated series about a heavily-armed robot who just wants to life a normal teenage life made its debut on this day in television history.

My Life is a Teenage Robot is a Nickelodeon cartoon created by Rob Renzetti that made its debut on August 1st, 2003. The series features the voice talents of Janice Kawaye, Candi Milo, Cree Summer, Eartha Kitt, and others.

The series follows the a robot who prefers being called Jenny. She was designed by a scientist to help protect Earth, but really just wants to lead a normal teenage life.

The series, which mixed both comedy and action, would go on to have 62 episodes produced. Although the final regular airing of these episodes was in 2005, some where not seen in the US until 2009.
