A new version of an original Nintendo game based on a classic Disney animated series was released four years ago today.
Ducktales: Remastered was developed by WayForward Technologies and published by Capcom. It was released via digital distribution for PC, WiiU and Playstation on August 13th, 2013. It would later be released for the Xbox Live Arcade and mobile devices. A boxed retail release would also follow.
The game is remastered version of the original game released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1989. That game was based on the Disney Afternoon hit series from the late 80s and early 90s.
The game is a 2D platformer, where the player controls Scrooge McDuck through various levels set in places like the Moon and The Amazon. The new version includes hand-drawn animations for the characters with 3D graphics for the levels.
Many of the voice actors from the original series such as Alan Young, June Foray, and Terry McGovern return to reprise their roles.
