A collection of three games from a beloved Nintendo sci-fi franchise was released seven years ago today.
Metroid Prime Trilogy, developed by Retro Studios and Nintendo, was released on August 24th, 2009 for the Nintendo Wii.
The game collects the the three action-adventure games from the GameCube and Wii: Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption together in a single release.
In these games, the player controls the bounty hunter, Samus Aran, as she ventures through space encountering various villains such as space pirates and investigating mysterious situations.
The games do feature some upgrades including support for the Wii’s motion controllers, widescreen graphics, and shorter load times.
The collection became a rare and sought-after release for a time, before it was given a digital re-release for the WiiU last year.
