“Joker’s Favor” is an episode from the 1st season of Batman: The Animated Series. Written by Paul Dini and directed by Boyd Kirkland, it first aired on September 11th, 1992.

In the episode, an ordinary citizen named Charlie has a traffic encounter with none other than the Joker, who demands a favor. That favor doesn’t come until year’s later when he wants Charlie to help him in a plot to attack Gotham City’s commissioner.

The episode is perhaps most notable for the debut of the character of Harley Quinn, here voiced by Arleen Sorkin. Although the role was mainly written as a colorful one-off sidekick, it became so popular that she would later reappear in future episodes. Later, Quinn would appear in comics, other animated series, live-action television series, video games, and most recently, the lead character in the live-action film Suicide Squad.
