“The Andorian Incident” is the 7th episode of the 1st season of Star Trek: Enterprise. Written by Fred Dekker (with story by Dekker, Brannon Braga, and Rick Berman), it first aired on UPN on October 31st, 2001.

In the episode, Enterprise travels to an historic Vulcan monastery, but finds it has been vandalized by Andorians who have also imprisoned the monks there. That’s when Captain Archer, T’Pol, and Chief Engineer Tucker are taken hostage as well.

The Andorians, with their trademark blue skin and antenna, return to live-action Trek in a prominent story role for the first time since the Original Series. One of the Andorians is played by Jeffrey Combs–known for several roles in other Trek series Deep Space Nine and Voyager. His character, Shran, would become a recurring character that would appear throughout the series.

“The Andorian Incident” was directed by Roxxnn Dawson, known for playing the role of B’Elanna Torres for seven years on Star Trek: Voyager.
