“Applebuck Season” is the 4th episode of the 1st season of the animated series, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Written by Amy Keating Rogers and directed by Jayson Theissen and James Wootton, it first aired on the Hub Network on November 5th, 2010.

In the episode, Applejack’s brother is injured just in time for the harvest at Sweet Apple Acres. She’s determined to take care of the farm herself without any help, while still taking care of all of the favors she’s promised her friends in the process–making her increasingly tired and out-of-it in the process.

The background character that would later be named Derpy Hooves (aka Muffins) got the origin of its character liking muffins in a scene in the episode. In another scene that would feature a character-defining moment, Rainbow Dash exclaims, “So awesome!” That line (and similar expression) would later be repeated in the spin-off Equestria Girls movie.
