This Day in Television History – November 29th, 1993 – Star Trek: The Next Generation’s “Parallels” Airs

One character finds himself moving through different realities in an episode that aired on this day in television history.

“Parallels” is the 11th episode of the 7th season of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Written by Brannon Braga and directed by Rober Wiemer, it first aired on November 29th, 1993.

In the episode, Worf returns from a Klingon combat tournament to a surprise party. But, he finds another surprise as he travels through parallel realities…some where he is married, others where past crewmembers have returned and more!

Some of the alternate realities include the return of Wesley Crusher (Wil Wheaton), another reality where the Borg still threaten what’s left of the Federation, where romance exists between Troi and Worf and more. The episode is counted by some fans as among the favorites of The Next Generation.
