This Day in TV History – February 11th, 2012 – My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic’s “Hearts and Hooves Day” Airs

An episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic that’s presents that fictional universes’ equivalent of Valentine’s Day first aired on this day in television history.

“Hearts and Hooves Day” is the 17th episode of the 2nd season of the animated series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Written by Meghan McCarthy, the episode first debuted on February 11th, 2012 on The Hub Network.

In the episode, the young Cutie Mark Crusaders are shocked to find that their teacher, Miss Cheerilee, doesn’t have a “special somepony” for the love-themed holiday, Hearts and Hooves Day. So, they work on setting her up with Apple Bloom’s older brother, Big Macintosh. But, when they create a potion to push it along, they’re surprise by what happens next.

The episode features an original song, “The Perfect Stallion,” song by Michelle Creber and Madeleine Peters and composed by Daniel Ingram.
